Description

You’ll meet your guide at our travel agency, right in the heart of Bologna. Starting from this renowned landmark, in a 3-day time you’ll get to the centre of Florence by crossing the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano chain, separating Tuscany from Emilia-Romagna. Riding on gravel and trail and partially on tarmac you’ll find yourself on the ancient track of the so-called Way of Gods. This hiking path was re-discovered by a group of Bolognese hikers in the 90s, but dates back to the Roman time. It was then called the Flaminia Minor and used for military purposes; re-opened in the Middle Ages, this road helped increase the trades between Florence and Bologna. You’ll have the opportunity to spot some of its remains along the path, which you’ll often share with trekkers.

Our experienced guides agree on the fact that the best way to complete the tour is to divide it into three stages and to take them in your stride, enjoying the mountains, its silence and colours. Pedaling on the green Apennine paths you'll find yourself in the middle of a lush nature and pass by important traces of the past. To increase your stamina, you’ll also taste the fresh and genuine flavours of the Tuscan and Emilia-Romagna cuisine in the restaurants you’ll find along the way.

Important info: the tour can be 100% tailor-made and is available from April to September. You can rent a trekking e-bike if you wish to ride on tarmac.
