Your tour will start with an enchanted view of the river Po, to which the city owes its foundation and development. Following our tour guide you will ride towards the incredible Cattedrale di San Giorgio, whose Romanesque and richly engraved façade stands right in front of the Town Council. Here you will be launched into the fascinating history of the Estensi, the family who paved the way to Renaissance in Emilia.
The next stop will be the narrow alleys of the Jewish Ghetto, a community embraced and protected by the Estensi. You will cross the inspiring Via delle Volte, ancient medieval centre of the city with its archways and pebbles. A visit to the Estense Castle is also mandatory, an extraordinary fortress that stands in the city centrem still surrounded by its moat.
Enjoy riding over the city walls which enclose the Medieval city, and are now made suitable for cycling. In a short time you will reach the famous Palazzo dei Diamanti, which takes its name from the over 8000 pyramid-shaped stones of its façade.
